Christian's Scarf

I knitted this scarf for my husband. He chose the yarn for it and luckily I managed to come up with the pattern in no time. :) The stitch pattern is really simple but has enough variation to make it an enjoyable knit.

Christian’s Scarf

Ágnes Kutas-Keresztes

Size

approx. 20 x 181 cm

Materials

Yarn:

HWS Markoma Pittsburgh

40% wool, 60% acrylic

188 meters / 100 g

2 ¼ skeins

Needles:

4 mm (US 6) straight needles

Gauge

21 stitches / 25 rows = 10 cm in pattern
using 4 mm (US 6) needles

Abbreviations

BO – bind off         p – purl

CO – cast on           RS – right side

k – knit                     WS – wrong side


 

Directions

With 4 mm (US 6) needles CO 44 stitches. (Note: for a wider scarf, CO 5, 10, 15 etc. stitches more.)

Row 1 (RS):          P3, * k3, p2, repeat from * to 6 stitches before end of row, k3, p3.

Row 2 (WS):         K3, * p3, k2, repeat from * to 6 stitches before end of row, p3, k3.

Row 3 (RS):          Repeat Row 1.

Row 4 (WS):        Knit.

Row 5 (RS):          Purl.

R0w 6 (WS):        Repeat Row 2.

Row 7 (RS):          Repeat Row 1.

Row 8 (WS):        Repeat Row 2.

Row 9 (RS):          Purl.

Row 10 (WS):       Knit.

Repeat Rows 1-10 until work measures approx. 180 cm or desired length, ending with Row 10.

Work Rows 1-3 once more.

BO all stitches knitwise.
