Moreover, as the "Lacy Gems" pattern on the body of the shawl can be worked with any number of repeats, you can knit your Amethyst in a different size than the ones given.

The pattern includes both written and charted directions.

Instructions include both US and metric measurements.

The needle sizes are recommended needle sizes only.

Important note:  the blocked size of the shawl greatly depends on the yarn you use and the tightness of the fabric. Elastic fibres tend to stretch more and the looser you knit the more your shawl can grow with blocking. Therefore, the finished size of your shawl may be different from the sizes shown in the chart.

Most of the shawl is knitted with the smaller needle size. The larger one is needed for the last row and for BO only.

You can work any number of repeats of the Lacy Gems Chart. Your shawl is going to be smaller or larger accordingly.

The sample shawl was knitted in worsted weight yarn, Pro Lana Lambswool Mix, 60% nylon, 20% wool, 20 % cotton, 105 meters (115 yards) / 50 g.
