Combining cable and lace stitches is always an exciting adventure for me. This shawl features a decorative cable and rib body and a border that catches the eye instantly. The cables of the body are like small brooks flowing into a river, they twist and turn until they become one of the defining elements of the border. These big cables are separated by a mesh texture with a touch of floral folk art.
Candela is a crescent-shaped shawl. The pattern contains instructions for two sizes, however, it’s possible to adjust the size by simply working more or less repeats of the body pattern. The body will still flow into the border smoothly, without having to change anything in the pattern.
The pattern contains charted and written, clear, easy-to-follow instructions. The pattern was both tech edited and tested. Pattern layout by graphic designer Eva Benke.

I'm sure a lot of knitters were eagerly waiting for the Deep Fall issue of Knitty to go live; now it's here and I have a pattern in it!
Twist Again is a sweet little shawlette using a DK weight single yarn that I spun myself but it can easily be sustituted with commercial yarns.
You can find more information and the FREE pattern on Knitty.
Slowly but surely, the weather is getting colder and summer is over. Autumn has been my favourite season for a while, I love it when the leaves turn yellow and red and brown, the sunshine in September when it's still nice and warm but not boling anymore and I don't even mind the rainy weather either, as long as we don't have way too much of it. At least I get to wear my shawls and hats and mitts more often ;)
Being a fan of Autumn, I really enjoyed designing the Hazel Collection last year. If you would like to knit a piece from this collection, I have good news for you!
Come and join us on our Caribbean Cruise, knit up lovely shawls in great company and win one of the crafty prizes! Sweet-scented Frangipani flowers will meet us at the first stop, followed by a fresh Tropical Morning, and finally we will say goodbye after enjoying the beautiful Caribbean Sunset.

I'm so happy to let you know that I have a pattern in the book 60 Quick Luxury Knits! My Cable and Eyelet Shawl uses just two skeins of Cascade Yarns Venezia Sport.
